Types of Home Elevators
There are three types of home elevators: hydraulic home elevators, traction home elevators, and pneumatic home elevators. Each type has its own advantages and disadvantages.

Traction home elevators use a gearless drive system and run on a steel rope. They are more energy efficient than hydraulic elevators, but they require more maintenance.
Pneumatic home elevators use air pressure to move the elevator cab. They are the most energy efficient type of home elevator, but they can be noisy.
